I was just up at the Depot last night to get a couple drinks in, after some intense wedding preparation stuff, i.e. vow writing and the likes, when I noticed a flier for Rapture on the wall. Apparently they’ve been at the Depot since May. Hmm, well if they moved then what about Ascension, the goth night that has been there for almost 7 years? Well according to their myspace page their night is coming to a close on August 7th.
So were these nights not bringing in enough money, is the club closing down, new owners?
If you know please comment for those that are curious as to this venue’s fate.

Drove by there on Tuesday night and I think the blue sign above the door was gone… Always seemed like a weird location for a club, especially after they put housing across the street.
Hey Patrick,
Sessa wants his dignity and reputation back, but he’s willing to settle on his photo credit being returned.
Orpheus isn’t closing, however the Friday night Rapture is under new management(VJ Umbris has taken over part of that role). That’s about all I know.
Dignity and reputation??!?! I never had those in the first place!
Thanks, guys.
Just incase you haven’t been keeping up with this same exact post on Sam’s blog, here is a response from Kele-D herself:
Hello… No, Club Orpheus is not closing down… I decided to end Ascension after 8 years… There will be a few parties going on after August 7th, one being a rave type night and another a hip-hop night… But, my friend VJ Umbris will be taking the torch and starting up on fridays once the various parties are done for the booking… If you would like to read about why I decided to end it feel free to read the most recent blog on our MS page….. I have and always will love Club Orpheus, for it has been an amazing haven throughout these many many years but it’s time for us to let go and sink our toes into other seas….
