Ouch, Artscape is serving up a blow to Baltimore’s electronic music scene. While there is some pseudo-jazzy-house music via Quantic and Nikodemus on the main stage on Sunday, that’s it. Nothing, no locals getting much deserved exposure, no Diplo, no nothing. While Artscape strives to be a family friendly event to get it’s fund raising it seems to lose it’s musical credibility bit by bit, year after year.
According to the Citypaper’s Noise blog, DJ Culture Stage booker Chris Brooks is doing a series of events at the Windup Space that weekend. Something is better than nothing even if it is only 21+. Why would we want to expose the children to electronic music anyways? Right?
